"WAHT"
Ned Lunt, a
Dentist (Left), and Charlie Granstaff, an Attorney (Right),
are the founders and owners of Wet A Hook
TechnologiesLP.
They both live in San Antonio, Texas. Being friends for
years, they would compare hunting and fishing stories
whenever they were together. One day Charlie was asking Ned
about the durable flies he tied. Ned mentioned that for
many years he had used a material that he had been
"tinkering with". The fascination with this material and
their friendship has kept the two of them busy developing
this product for you.
They both love what they do in their busy practices of
Dentistry and Law. Wet A Hook Technologies (WAHT) has been
the enjoyable outlet of two very creative minds. They both
praise their partner as the motivating force in the efforts
needed to build a company while managing their own
practices. If it is possible to have the perfect
partnership in a business, this is close to it with
complete trust in each other.
Ned was raised in the mountains of Southern Utah hunting,
fishing and working the land his family has. He has a
wonderful wife and five children. He will also mention that
he has 10 incredible grandchildren. Ned came to Texas in
1970 where he served a mission for his church. He later
came back to visit, met his wife and they moved to
Beaumont, Texas. Ned’s strong chemistry background
landed him a job at Mobil Chemical in the R&D lab with
polymer development. He also worked as the assistant plant
chemist for a company in Port Arthur, Texas. In 1975 he was
accepted to Dental School in San Antonio and has lived
there ever since.
Charlie was born and raised in Texas. He is married to his
high-school sweetheart and has three wonderful children. He
is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law and
is also a CPA. He often writes articles and lectures for
his law speciality. Charlie and his family have a beautiful
ranch in the Texas Hill Country on the banks of the San
Saba River about 120 miles from San Antonio. There, he and
his family and friends hunt deer, turkey, quail and fish
for bass, perch and catfish.
At the end of March 2007 Charlie and Ned met Andy Snedden
as pictured between Charlie and Ned below.
Andy was born and raised in southern Ontario, Canada. He
grew up in a fishing family receiving tutelage in the finer
points of angling from his father and grandfather. Andy
earned his MSc from Brock Univ. and PhD from the Univ. of
Toronto and subsequently worked at the Univ. of St Andrews
(Scotland) and then Univ. Kansas. His behavioural ecology
research has taken him to many parts of the world –
by some great coincidence there was usually good fishing
nearby. In 2001 Andy and his wife Barbara (a NY native)
returned to Canada and they now live on beautiful Vancouver
Island. Andy is president of Custom Rodbuilders Inc., a rod
building components supply company, and when not fishing or
building rods he lectures on fly fishing, fly tying and,
rod building.
Andy accepted an
invitation to go to San Antonio and visit with Charlie and
Ned about the future of Wet A Hook Technologies. Andy is an
individual with great work ethics and integrity. He has
qualities that will be a major benefit to WAHT and has
accepted the position of Production Manager. Charlie and
Ned are thrilled to have him on board and are in the
process of making him a partner in the company.
This is a great success story that could not have happened
without the help of many individuals. Ned, Charlie and Andy
want to thank all of you for your expertise and thank all
who have worked hard to listen, advise, and test the
materials. We know we now have incredible products for your
excitement and creative use. We know you will be thrilled
with "TuffleyeTM".
